In our first year, our organizing:

- Stopped the worst of the Mayor’s cuts to 3K which means every family who applied received a seat.

- Won More free full day (to 6 PM) 3K and PreK Seats an expansion of the city’s pilot.

- More funding for outreach - and a promise to make sure that families across the city know how to access free universal 3K and PreK.

There’s a lot more to do to make sure the promise if free 3K and Prek for all families is guaranteed.

In our first year, we:

- Grew to over 6,000 supporters city-wide

- Organized rallies, days of actions and drove hundreds of calls to our City Council members

- Shared our experiences: When the NYCDOE released 3K offers and more than 2,500 families were left without their promised seat. Many received seats that were too far. We collected and shared their stories. We worked with grandparents too!

In November, 2024, we released a major platform outlining the steps to get to free universal public child care in New York State.Universal Public Child Care is:
