Since taking office, Mayor Adams has made annual cuts to the city’s Universal 3-K program, leaving families in limbo. In 2024, thousands of children were waitlisted for a 3-K seat, forcing parents to scramble for expensive private options.
Parents, would-be parents and All New Yorkers impacted by the city's affordability crisis are fighting back. We are asking Mayor Adams to restore funds to 3-K and early and to implement 2-Care, free child care for 2 year olds.
On March 13th, The New York City Council's Education Committee is holding a budget hearing on the Mayor's Preliminary Budget.
